Interesting, apparently the judge for the Harry Potter case doesn't like the Harry Potter books, he thinks they're gibberish.

For a background on the case, wikipedia has a pretty good summary at:

I'm no legal scholar, but I have to side with Steve Vander Ark, seems to me that JK Rowling is just mad that someone beat her to the punch of making the encyclopedia before her.
In my opinion, I think JK Rowling should let Vander Ark make his encyclopedia based on his site, I'm sure he'll make some money, but probably not as much as she would make if she made the "official" version.
I'm sure people would want to pick up her version more than they would Vander Arks anyway... well, at least they would have before this trial started, now people are going to buy Vander Arks just because of the high profile legal case.
To me, this is just apart of capitalism, I agree that no one should be able to write a book with the harry potter characters or ideas, but she shouldn't try and take someone out who is making a reference book about her literary universe just because she wants to make one too.
Case in point, look at all the reference books that Amazon has to offer for some of the most famous movies/stories of our time:
Star Wars
Star Trek
Marvel Universe
Lord of the Rings
The list goes on and on, my point is, is that there was bound to be someone who would make a reference book for Harry Potter, why is JK Rowling acting so surprised?
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying JK Rowling doesn't have some grounds to be mad, but I think she's blowing things out of proportion, she's acting like if this guy releases this book, she'll lose all of her money and then she won't be able to write any more Harry Potter books.
I mean, I've heared she has more money than the Queen of England, what more does she want, world domination??? Is she the new NWO???
j/k ^_^
Some people say that Obama has an elitist complex because of his speech on small town America (which I think is dumb, it's just people jumping on another bandwagon against Obama), but I'll take it one step further and say that JK Rowling has been showing signs of elitism (yes I said it) with her idea that she can be the only one to make anything pertaining to Harry Potter.
Speaking of which, did JK Rowling come up with the Harry Potter concept in the first place? I only say this because another character by the name of Larry Potter was out back in the 80's that deals with muggles and magic:

All I know is, if JK Rowling keeps this up, I'm switchin to readin Larry Potter books lol j/k ^_^
Now I know that this post is probably going to be followed up with a rant and rave by ~M ^_^ But that's fine, that's why I started this blog, to get the conversations and debates flowin
By the way ~M, looks like someone made a book based on the Gilmore Girls:

Strange that Amy Sherman-Palladino hasn't set up a lawsuit for Cathy East Dubowski for writing a book about how Rory felt when she broke up with Dean ^_^ I guess maybe Amy and JK should have a nice talk with a cup of tea in the JK Rowling mansion lol
